Wine
Blue Pyrenees Estate Red blends the best parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from the estate vineyard in the Pyrenees in Victoria. A dash of Shiraz and/or Malbec is included in some years.
Each variety is kept separate during vinification. The fruit ferments in large static fermenters and smaller open fermenters. It is then transferred to a mix of new and seasoned French and American oak to age.
After maturing for a full 24 months, select barrels are chosen for blending. The wine then undergoes a light egg white fining prior to bottling.
Deep ruby, Blue Pyrenees Estate Red is full bodied, bold and savoury. Fine tannins and savoury oak frame juicy dark fruit flavours. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
